According to atmospheric scientist Gilbert Compo, the answer is no.
Alright ladies, pick this one apart...
And dang it, Maddog beat me to it...Oh well, I'll let the report monkeys have their fun with this one too.
Actually Compo didn't say that. You obviously did not read the study and will be surprised when you do because it does not say what you think it does.
The study says this thing can work to monitor weather patterns and improve models. It also lists the other data-sets are will or can be uploaded to add more data. They tested it with just a few stations so far. The point is that there is now a great new tool to try to determine when or if patterns have changed. They are no conclusions yet about changes.
And once you read it you will realize that that data is only through the 1990s. There are no studies or climate scientists who have claimed there were changed patterns as early as that. So what the heck are you ranting about anyhow?
It would really help if you actually read something before ranting.
