Why (supposedly) do Army commissioned officers get less flying time than warrant officers?
I've been hearing this and was wondering... The usual mantra is that commissioned officers having "more responsibility..." I get it, but be specific, please. Also, what other duties would an LT helicopter pilot have versus those of a WO1?
The difference is that Commissioned Officers are being groomed for command responsibilities, and Warrant Officers are devoted primarily to working their specialty. While it is true that Warrants can (and do) command, it is not the rule, whereas Commissioned Officers do command.
