have any of you been to the CHARLIE DANIELS museum in Nashville? Did you think it was rascist?
I went and I could hardly believe my eyes!
First of all it's not rwally a museum- I mean it has a small room with a few mementos of his(guitars, whatever...) but there is like this large junk/gift shop in the front. It has stuff like salt and pepper shakers that look like stereotypical black people in the early 20th century ( kind aunt jemima if you know what i mean) , and a bunch of stuff with confederate flags.I think they had refridgerator magnets of black people eating watermelon. I just felt not myself being there.
Have you been there? What do you think- what would you do if you saw this?
I think its only racist if you want it to be racist. Seriously i wouldnt think if i saw a cartoonish white character i would ever think its racist so why think any other depiction of any race is racist? Everyone knows those kind of characterizations are old school depictions of the time and easily identafiable as that and nothing more, not "oh look its a black person, they all look like that" it doesnt say that. Once more, if someone was truely racist they would not buy those.
Okay yeah racist and rednecks would buy the confederate flag stuff though lol but i have seen black dudes with a confederate flag thing going, its just rare for them to like it.
If i saw it i would kind of just laugh. You see i think of anything racist as not being racist but look at it as a joke about the racists themselves and get reminded of how stupid and funny racists can be.
*does quick web search "charlie daniels"* oh fuck never mind what i said... racist shit!!
xD
