What I mean by a floating necklace: A basic wire necklace that uses crimps around each bead. I know there has to be a way to put a pendant on it!
Years ago, I used to make earrings and necklaces for myself. A nearby store specialized in all kinds of parts needed to make jewelry. You might check in your town for a similar store. I know I have seen the little loops that one can use to put a pendant on the necklace. BUT, your necklace has to have a loop itself in order to attach it to the necklace.
If all else fails, take it to a jewelry store and ask them how much it would cost to put a loop(s) on for your necklace. I may be wrong, but I can't imagine them charging more that $10. It just depends on how much you paid for the necklace and if you want to spend the money to have a jeweler do it. It would probably be better than trying to do it yourself and having your pendant fall off.
