i have this old ceramic jar - it is white and it has a black mans face on it. the man has white eyebrows and big lips - kind of uncle remus. it looks like the jar was made for storing cottonballs because the bottom of the jar has cottony flowers on it. it looks old to me , plus i don't know if it still is p.c. to make that kind of exaggerated black americana. if you know anything about this jar or where i could find out info about it - i've looked on ebay for similar stuff but i don't quite know the correct terminology. thanks!

This use of blackface for produces has been used for a long time and was popular in the 20s-30s and is associated with Art Deco style. Things like that haven't been made since before the Civil Rights Movement, unless it was made in a foreign country where blackface is not as taboo.
For collectors it would sell at a good price.
