What makes for a good collector Bowie knife?
My boyfriend wants a good bowie knife for Christmas. He collects weapons so I want to get him a "good" one . I don't think he plans on using it. How should I go about finding one, and whats the most I should pay?
I found a Boker bowie on North American Knives.com. Its a 7 1/2 inch blade, 440c stainless w/ a micarta handle and a leather sheath. It's $88.00. Is this a good deal?
There are a LOT of bowies out there, and if you want you can find one that is good fairly easily. The most common names out there are Buck, Old Timer, Bear. and some more. They range pretty good as far as price too, from only a few bucks for a cheap one to well over $100 for a nice starter.
