What size aquarium should I use for 2 Koi fish?
I've worked really hard on my room, it's japanese themed with handpainted cherry blossom trees in one corner and hand painted calligraphy signs around my room and I have one small bonsai tree. I've got much more but it's too much to write.
I really think love koi fish. They're absolutely beautiful and I've been thinking about getting two (I hate odd numbers) to really accent my theme of my room. the only problem is, I don't know what size aquarium to buy. I know that koi fish grow a lot, but is there a breed that won't grow as big? I'm willing to get a huge aquarium, I'm just concerned the koi will outgrow one.
So once again,
1)How big of an aquarium (how many gallons) will i need to buy for two koi fish?
2) Is there a breed that doesn't grow as big? I want them to be comfortable....

How about instead of Koi, do comets (since they look like koi and are not as big). Or maybe a saltwater aquarium?
500 gallons minimum. An alternative would be two interestingly colored comets. They have the same general body type as koi and longer fins than commons, but could be kept in a 125 gallon tank. Just don't pick the first two you see, take your time and be choosy. Since they aren't really aggressive, you don't even need to pick two from the same place, just find two that really appeal to you.
