What was that old comic feature in the sunday paper that featured cowboys? The main character was a deputy or?
perhaps the sheriff, His buddy was a tall bearded cowhand with the traditional handle-bar mustache and a rifle in his saddle holster. He would often go up on the snow covered mountains to hunt. What was his name and the name of this feature? This sunday feature was often in the same paper with the old "Mark Twain" series that had a pipe smoking inset picture of the guy telling the story and giving advice and hints to kids. This goes far back to the 40's
I am sorry, the other old feature was " Mark Trail" not Twain.
I searched for it and that seems to match a strip called Rick O'Shay, and his buddy was " Hipshot" The creator is Stan Lynde. It began as late as 1958 and not the 40's
