If you're going to the Amazon or up-country in Malaysia or Borneo, yeah...fine.
I've done those...jungle school in Malaysia and trekking for the others...served and lived east a while and been to Peru and Brazil.
Why else would you want a machete like that?
Camping? Grief, no thanks. Waste of space...and weight. Showing it off? Ok... .
Better off with a small axe for camping ...far more useful.
And take a pocket knife....here's the one I use.Standard Army issue, available in the shops. All I've used for forty years of camping and living out on five continents.
No big stupid 'survival' stuff....what a bunch of wannabees some people are with their 'survival' this 'survival' that.....comic book stuff. Not mature.
The machete's we used for jungle school were just ordinary locally made plain simple machetes...no fancy handles or fancy names. Buy them from market traders or local shops for a few dollars. Last a lifetime.
