Poem about maltreatment what do you think, views and opinions please?
No right to judge.
You told me a story as I looked in your eyes
Desperate and lonely on cold winter nights
From friendship and loving to separate lives
Filled with dark surprises and darker lies.
The bruises have all gone but the scars still remain
Battered you only feel love comes from anger
From hardship and beatings you fought back the pain
Left with the knife marks and clothing bloodstained.
The memories you share change the atmosphere
Your vulnerability is on display
Fractured and tense your body shakes with fear
As you try in vain to hold back the tears.
I spoke a few words but my musings were confused
Don’t judge me you say you don’t have the right
It’s not me who should stand as the accused
It’s so hard to trust when you’ve only been used.

Smile ~ It is meant to be generic.
Red ~ No I haven't been to the depths just trying to relay something of a story told to me recently, so I didn't want it to be too close to the reality.
I agree with smile the verses were very well thought out but there is something missing; to my mind there is a lack of ''I need to have been there'' and I don't think you have. if you have, then the feeling does not show through.
Hey, what ever I say it was a great effort.
