Can you sharpen swords with rocks?

a $43 sword is going to need all the help you can give it to take an edge. Rocks can, in theory, sharpen swords. But you have to be experienced at this, and use the right kind of rock, and if you're looking at a $43 sword, your best bet is to leave it alone and keep it shiny. It will probably not keep a good edge, even if you use a file or a sharpening stone.
