We are going away in 3 weeks and i am applying for my daughters first passport, my countersignatory filled in her section in felt tip instead of ballpoint pen, I thought this was fine as it says blank ink on the form however I then read the supporting booklet which states very clearly not to use fountain pens or fibre tip only black ballpoint pens. I took this to check and send at the post office 5 days ago and pointed this out to them and asked if i should fill in another application as i couldn't afford any delay. They said this was fine especially as it was going through check and send and should be back in 2 weeks and if there were any problems i would hear in a few days.
Has anyone else ever had their application rejected because of this, and also how soon did you hear back. I want to call for progress but their website advises to wait 2 weeks!
The reason they say ink instead of felt tip ink is that a felt tip ink can be smudged before drying. However once they have accepted it you will be fine.
