1. I believe it is the lotus flower. However I have found references to niloofar being a water lily also. The reason I am siding towards lotus is that I found the almost exact words "a symbol of life and women" relating to the lotus whilst references relating to water lily just say that niloofar means water lily in persian. I have also found similar references to lotus though!
