Yellow wildflower identification question?
Was canoeing on the border of PA and NY when I saw a yellow flower - looking quite like queen Ann's lace, but it was bright yellow instead of white. Do you know what it is? I tried googling yellow wildflowers and did not see it. It was pretty high on the side of the river - above the water line, easily so it is not an emergent plant. It did not look like yarrow or yellow rocket. (Sorry - did not have a camera with me)
maybe Golden Alexander (Zizia aurea)? Whatever it is, it's probably in the Apiaceae/parsley family.
