i want to be a hammer what gun is the best?
im pretty big 6 foot 200 pounds, i was browsing through the positions and thought being a hammer would suit me. i heard the double trouble galatin is good but i dont like the look of it. i was looking at the spyder mr3 but now im not sure, price range is probably 100-500 dollars but i think its worth it.i know i need lots of paint maybe a grenade or two and probably some heavy armour sense theyll know where i am. i run at a good speed i just got out of basketball season, and i heard something like gel tex boots are good? anything else i missed?
The "dub trub" is a sweet gun, but is is a HEAVY mofo- two A-5's stuck together w 2 loaders, etc. It's also not the most maneuverable thing out there, but 30+ bps of paint is an awesome force, and it's fun watching one go to town- everyone ducks and covers!!!
If you want to come close to that, go with an X-7/Flatline combo with an E-trigger and get the following mods for your cyclone feed from SpecOps (or another dealer, but you get points and free stuff at S.O.)
JCS CYCLONE SHAFT & RATCHET KIT PRO
TECH T CYCLONE EXHAUST PISTON
TECH T Cyclone Lightening Rod
These 3 parts will make your cyclone feed work better, last longer, feed faster and use less gas. Add an upgrade board for the E-grip, and you can be ripping 30 bps with the best of them.
I'd also add this- better than the plastic parts in the 7
JCS Red Hot Power Tube
You'll have about the same firepower as a hammer, but in a smaller package. Only problem is that many fields still don't allow full-auto (which is why the 'dub has the firestorm crank) so you can just buy a Firestorm crank for those fields and set the E-grip to reactive or 3-shot burst for some major covering fire.
The MR3 is very nice, but I still think all electronic and electro/pneumo markers are more fragile than Tippmanns (even with an E-grip) and since the gun is fairly new, I'd look for reviews and wait to see how well it does before investing in one. You could always go w. a simpler A-5 or X-7/Flatline and join us Broadswords! : )
Won't really need armor- just open up and watch them duck, but a good vest that will hold a ton of paint and air is a must- the Hammer vest at S.O. is great. I think you mean Gore-tex boots, which are waterproof but breatheable. Just buy a good pair of boots that you are comfortable in, don't have to be gore-tex unless you plan on getting wet a lot.
