So, I've been drawn towards writing utensils a bit more each year. After trying out a fountain pen and loving it, I've tried out roller balls, ink and gel pens, but I still need work on my pencil skills. Right now I use a G2 because of the ease of writing with it. I probably need to learn to hold a pen/pencil correctly as well.
So, before I get really into writing with a fountain pen as much as I currently do with a G2, I'd like to improve my handwriting and print.
Is there a website where I could print out penmanship guides or something? Do they offer classes or the like? Preferably for a fountain pen, but I also need work using a pencil since I seem to hold it wrong and end up with hand cramps.
I hold my pencil "wrong" too. My hands hurt and feel awkward when I try to hold it correctly. In middle school teachers used to give me a lot of crap for it but it really doesn't matter how you hold a pencil.
Practicing penmanship doesn't require classes. I used to change the way I write certains letters and the best way to get used to it is just write how you want it to look and then write it that way over and over. Switch letters every once in a while so you don't get bored. After you get comfortable with the motion for that letter you have to practice using it in a real word. So just start writing sentences with them in it. At first it will take some concentrating to write them correctly but after a while you just intuitively write in that style.
