Geometric Art Work

Geometric Art Work
How is this for a Artist Statement?

Art to me is putting your feelings on a piece of paper. I also believe art is a great way to start your creativity again after a long hiatus of not being used. The fact that I could express myself without saying anything was what made me like art.
I first started art in the seventh grade, I hated it because we always drew still life’s, and we didn’t get to choose what we would like to do it soon became frustrating so I came into this school year pessimistic.
During this school year I learned about an Artist named Romero Britto. Romero Britto was my influence this whole school year. In his work he uses thick black lines, Geometric shapes, and colorful colors. Romero helped me understand and appreciate art a bit more

Critique it. Is it a effective artist statment? Is there any Grammatical errors? Is there a better way to write something in there? Help me :]

I think it's great that you're defining art as a way of expressing yourself. I think though, that artists are always "saying something" in their work. Maybe you should explain that you like the way you can express words in a visual way; emotions too. Explain how Romero Britto expresses his emotions/what you think he is trying to say, and maybe try and think about what exactly you try and say in your art.
Usually artist statements are an explanation into emotions/thoughts behind your art.
Great start!
