What kind of swords were used in the movie "Robin Hood"?
Has anyone seen Kevin Costner's "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves?"
A little more than halfway through, Alan Rickman's character, the Sheriff of Nottingham, comments on the quality of his new swords, made with "Spanish steel." And a center piece of the whole movie is the large, golden-hilted sword that Nottingham stole from Robin Hood's father.
Does anyone know exactly what kind of swords these were, what the technical terms for them were? Broadsword, bastard sword, hand-and-a-half sword, or what?
They're just traditional broadswords. Some might be hand and a half or whatever but those are just variations of the broad sword.
Thats probably my favorite movie....
