Is the SOG Flash II a good knife?

Alright, well I picked up one of these at a Hunting Show here in BC yesterday for $75 canadian + tax, and I was wondering how good it is compared to other folding knives, as this is my first folding knife.
Also, how good is the AUS 8 stainless steel the blade is made of?

It's the Zytek handle one, not aluminum, and without TiNi coating on the blade.

Intended for everyday use, and for skinning and gutting animals that i shoot.

It's an ok knife at best. As other posters already mentioned AUS8A isn't the best or top end steel. Mediocre probably. I'd consider it if I was going in humid env. or river and was on the specific budget.

From my personal experience with that steel, well it's not holding sharp edge for long, compared th other steels that is. Especially noticeable if you grind relatively thin edge around 30 deg. included. I'm not even mentioning anything thinner.

One more thing to keep in mind is Zytel. It's not the best handle material. If you check on bladeforums you'll find reports on Zytel deforming and separating from the liners. Especially under hot conditions. As far as I know, in cold weather Zytel has troubles too.

Better choice would be 440C knife with G-10 handles if you can find in the same price range.
