What is the cheapest jigsaw blade recommended for cutting high-carbon steel?
I want to cut the blade of a machete, which is about 1/16" thick (I think), and the best saw to use to do what I want is a jigsaw, band saw, or reciprocating saw, and I think all I have is a jigsaw.
It's a ten-dollar machete, so my guess is that it has just enough carbon in it to be considered a high-carbon blade.
A $10 machete is not a very good one, so I believe it is not a high carbon blade.
most machetes are not very hard anyway, to avoid the possibility of shattering or chipping
they are however, tempered
A simple bi-metal fine tooth blade at a slow feed rate, with plenty of lubricant will be fine
