To start off, I want to say that I am NOT asking about forging a knife, or cutting a knife blade out of a hunk of steel plate. I want to know if there is any good site with step by step knife making directions, using a blank for the blade and some pieces for the handle (if you know what I mean). Also, is there anywhere online that will sell blanks handles and such? also sites with direction and list of parts to folders would be helpful. I want to go into business making knives so I need a place where I can buy the parts not in HUGE bulk but at either singular, with cheap prices, or in moderate bulk (say, ten at a time) do I need any types of machines? thank you guys for reading my long article.
i have benn making knives like this for a couple of years, you can find everything you need on ebay. i buy a lot of blades and scales(handles) from premium kinfe supply, very good quality for the price also try north coast knife supply, as far as to what you need in the way of tools, they are very basic i have a band saw,belt grinder, buffer and lots of regular hand tools, you have to improvise. try these sites
