I want to assemble a little kit that I can carry in a pocket (folding knife, notepad etc). What do I need?
What I was thinking is getting one of those metal tobacco tins people use if they roll their own smokes. The inside of the lid is polished so I can use that to attract attention is need be and it's pretty solid!
I was thinking a compact multi-tool, a small notepad and pencil stub, perhaps a bandage or plasters, a list of phone numbers and my blood type, a compass, maybe a little loose change, a wad of cotton wool and a camera film case full of red-tip matches. I'd keep it sealed with elastic bands.
Is this a good selection, can you think of anything else?
I'm going to be doing a bit of countryside walking and a spot of camping, but I'd mainly keep my kit in a jacket pocket for use around the house or when cycling to work etc.
Thanks!
Jenny K- Swiss Army knives are sold in Woolworths, Millets, WH Smiths and every Army surplus store I've ever been in. Perfectly legal for a outdoorsman/woman to carry where I am.
Thats a good selection
I would just add a condom, you use it to carry water in.
Chewing gum, helps with thirst
