Would a CBR600F4 handle 6psi @ 14k rpms?
Hello, my question is this, with maximum rpm being 14,300 rpms, would a CBR600F4 crankshaft (with cryo-treating, balancing & knife edging, & billet rods & pistons, as well as PROPER COMPUTER TUNING & PORT FUEL INJECTION.
at 12.2:1 compression ratio and 6 psi, would the crankshaft stand up to it as long as there was no knock & it was properly tuned for it as well as the heads/pistons/cams set up for it?
This is just my opinion, but if you do a 6psi boost running 12.2:1 c/r you run the risk of pre-ignition, because the boost will raise the cylinder temperature to a point where the fuel will self detonate.
I think you would have to lower the initial c/r down from 12.2:1 if you were going to apply that boost pressure.
