Has anyone heard of Delarue?
I have a clock which looks to be either brass or gold bronze. It depicts two knights playing chess. On one of the Shields is the engraving Delarue. Can anyone shed a light on who he was please.
The clock is solid and is very heavy. It depicts two knights lying down with their helmets beside them, they are in full armour. They are playing chess. It stands on plinths of brest and back plates. There is a coat of arms on it There is a large cross dividing a shield in two and a cross in each quarter. The actual clock is in the middle and supports the knights and the chess board. Hope that helps. Even if someone recognises the coat of arms it would be helpfull.
Im in the UK, but the clock could have come from anywhere.
honestly it reminded me of a charater from sartre's book "the age of reason".
