Would the savage 110 FP make a good sniper rifle?
I'm looking to purchase a tactical/sniper rilfe for around 700 or less. My first question is can civilians purchase the law enforcement series from remington and savage?
If yes, what do you guys think of savage 110 FP? Anyone have this rifle? Is it pretty much just cheap quality?

Looking to get it in 300 win mag, given civilians can buy the law enforcement models.
Do you have any other suggestions for sniper rifles with a heavy barrel and long action for 700 and under? I'm looking at larger calibers such as 300 win mag, or 06. I already have a .308.
Hi ---Respectfully your thinking needs a little clarification ---- What makes a rifle a "snipers rifle" is the guy holding it.... If you are not a military personnel, a SWAT team member or a police sharpshooter then your rifle will never be a "sniper rifle" What makes it a sniper rifle is the guy holding it..... On to your other question ---- The Savage rifle you show in the link is an excellent rifle..... Another good choice is the Remington 700 SPS varmint rifle..... I know you mentioned you have a .308 and want a rifle with more bang but have you considered the cost of the ammo?? That .300 Winchester Magnum cartridges is really expensive!!! .308 can be had in bulk for a lot less money which means you can get a lot of practice time in without spending a fortune in ammo....... Another thing about the .300 win mag -- The recoils a bit obnoxious and unless you have an expensive scope the recoil beats those to death to..... Hope This Helps...
