How Long Does It Take A brain Tanned Fur To Dry?
I brain tanned several deer hides without any problem. So I thought Id have a go at brain tanning a deer hide with the fur on. I mixed the brains with water and placed it on the hide and let it sit over night. I took it out the next day and wrung it out and worked it all day I let it sit over night again and the next morning it had a few hard spots on it I worked them out and made it soft again I periodacilly worked throught the whole day until I went to sleep but the next morning when I woke up the hide was to hard to work .My question is all the instructions ive read all say to work the hide until it is dry but how is that praciticle if you have to work the hide for 3 to 4 days solid?
Depends on WHERE it's drying.
