i'm a native woman and don't know any native men who are "typical". but i can tell you that cultural diversity is not the problem here...forced assimilation and cultural theft is. it was not enough to suppress and outlaw our culture and languages but now non natives are appropriating our culture. these "culture vultures" are quickly replacing the real indigenous peoples in the minds of the rest of the non native population. they write books as if they are the authorities on us and they play the stereotype so to appear more "real" to those who don't know any better. it is as destructive as any gun or epidemic ever was.
