Why does lead sometimes not come out of a mechanical pencil?
Sometimes when I put lead in my pencil, no lead comes out, no matter how much more I put in. Why does this happen?
Pedantic answer: Because theres no lead in it; only graphite.
Useful answer: Because the cyclinders of graphite are not engaging the feeding mechanism properly. Empty it and fill it again - don't put too much in though. If this doesn't work buy a new good quality one (Pentel) - there are a lot of crap models out there! Until then empty the pencil and carefully feed the graphite in from the other side: the side it clicks out of.
