Money clip users...............?
My daughter got me a money clip for Christmas, this is ideal, as i have to carry a moderate amount of cash at work. What I want to know, what is the best, most convenient way to fold the bills? Do you fold them all in one fold, or by denominations, or individually, or what? What works best for you, and why?
Hey, I just want to add, the suggested category for this was computers/programming. Good ole' YA!
Hey Antwon!
I was given a cheap money clip (brass sheet metal, plated with something shiny, but probably not gold) around 1988. I've been using it ever since. Most of the plating is worn off, but it still performs as if it were new.
I have been offered a new money clip for Christmas or birthdays many times, but I decline. I like to hold on to things for awhile. For instance, I bought my television in 1980, and even though I can afford any tv on the market, I have no need for one since mine works just fine. ( I don't watch it much anyway)
I really didn't want a money clip in the first place, as I had always carried my 'folding' money in my wallet, but I got used to it and now wouldn't consider carrying money in my wallet.
Being somewhat anal, I stack the cash from lowest to highest with all of them facing the same way, then fold it once, putting the small denominations on the outside of the wad. I slip the clip on from right to left, since I'm right handed and the wad is in my left hand.
Every few days, I take it out and resort the stack since normal daily transactions get it all screwed up. I guess I'm only semi-anal.
When I get down to just a few bills, my clip won't stay on the wad since it has a fixed spring set and doesn't close completely, so then I fold the wad a second time to increase the friction by doubling the thickness.
You'll have to let us know in a few months how you ended up folding yours.
Cheers!
