David Ortiz doesn't count. How many Hispanic players do they have, one, two? Interesting isn't it? Is that a statement about Boston or the ownership? What about the Yankees?
I have zero agenda here, I'm just wondering why NY and Boston have all white players. Phily, Tampa, CHW, Min, LAA... Almost all have multiple black players. Is it the fans or the organizations?
I understand that MLB does not have as large as a percentage of Black players as NFL or NBA, and NHL is worse, but zero not one single player, isn't that poor marketing? NY and MA have large black populations, and thank you for pointing out that NY has many hispanic players & Derek Jeter, but where's Jim Rice, Charlie Hayes, Willie Randolph, Dave Winfield, Oil Can Boyd, Dave and or Ricky Henderson, Mickey Rivers, Don Baylor, Reggie Jackson... They were more than just black players they were attitute and personality. something both teams are currently lacking.

As to whether they have a number of black players that would make you 2 happy, that would be a moot point. The Red Sox have won the WS twice in the last 5 years. Should those trophies be taken away because they don't have enough black players to suit you?
I've been a fan of baseball since 1964. My first hero was Bob Gibson. I never considered his culture a factor in my appreciation of his skill. It means nothing.
