Baby onions?
I planted onion sets (white, yellow and red) 3 weeks ago. I planted them thickly on purpose because I read you can thin them and use them for green onions or baby onions. How do I know when they've grown past the "green onion" stage into the "baby onion" stage? (They started about 3-4 inches tall and a little smaller than a pencil... they are about a foot tall now and the stalks have more leaves.)
Just dig down below the soil line a little bit and you can see how the onion is progressing. I pick mine at all stages. They are good no matter the size. Blades included. Good luck!
