I want to buy it for a friend’s house-warming but need to know if it’s a good quality knife set. I read some “mixed” reviews and wanted to know if anyone here on Yahoo Answers might have some insight regarding the quality of these knives. Thanks.
I don't reccommend knife sets, they generally have too many, poor quality knives. To start, I would get a chef's knife, bread knife and paring knife, good quality ones will be at least $50 each (more for the big ones) make sure they're sharpenable and get a sharpening stick thingy - I'm just a home cook - but seriously, they will last you forever, I've had my wusthofs for 10 years. BTW knives are not good gift according to feng shei - but what about just a chef's knife for your friends, if they do any cooking, they will really appreciate it
