Writing a letter as opposed to EMAILING - do people out there physically write letters ?
It just got me think buying kids magazines in the 1980s and 90s. Often, in some, you could form a friendship through 'penpals' whereby you'd write a letter.
Okay, so if you had friends you didn't see frequently and that they lived long distance, you would write a letter.
We've had the technology of email over the last 15 years or so at our disposable of which is so advantageous.
But I would love just to pick up a fountain pen, a sheet of A4 line paper, write a letter, put it in an envelope, seal it, stamp it and post it - it's the experience believe it or not.
Nowadays, virtually 99% of the stuff that posted through a letter box is either bills, adverts or just plain junk.
You'd be lucky if anybody remembered your birthday and dropped a card through the post as well as a letter.
I just wondered really what other people's thoughts are on this ??
Thanks
i use e-mail and facebook most of the time, but do still write letters or postcards to some older friends and my grandma
if you like to write, have you thought of corresponding with someone serving in the armed forces,
or maybe a school in africa or something like that, or do you have any elderly relatives who would appreciate a letter
