my little cousin who is only 19 years old committed an armed robbery. he went into a cell phone store and stole one of the display phones. the store manager says my cousin then showed a pocket knife as he was on the way out the door. he later was arrested.
at the first court appearance nothing happened but the store manager testified and the judge set another court date for 3 weeks.
what will happen at the next court appearance?
This beef will eventually be reduced to a misdimeanor charge, as the knife was only brandished after the theft occurred. So it was and is NOT an armed robbery. Next court appearance? Tell the boy to keep stalling it offf. Extend the time to copping a plea, -make sure he pleads not guilty - and by the time the trial date is set, it will get thrown out.
