am i able to lay lino/laminate over carpet?
i have just moved into rented accomodation, aside form moving again, my landlady is a tight cow who wont fork out for new carpets (the current ones are off cream and filthy from day one). i dont want to pay for her carpet so was thinking of laying some lino or laminate or soemthing over the carpet to at least look nicer - it is cheaper than buying hundreds of rugs for the place surely?! but obv cos it is her place, i cant remove the carpet. she knows i hate it and i think i will move out, but cant afford to yet and really wnat a nice place to show my freinds... what should i do? am i able to lay over carpet? is it expensive - how do you do it? where do you buy the stuff??? please help.
to those who say to clean the carpet - it has already been professionally done - and 1) was still a state - and that was an industrial machine! and 2) its cream and gets dirty straight away - why the stupid landlady put a whitey cooloured carpet is beyond me 
x. no you cant but buy a very large rug it must be cheaper than buying laminated flooring. x
