Can you put a 42" flat screen TV on a bookshelf?
My shelf is 11.25" wide, and the width of base of the stand on the TV I am looking at is the same size. I have a large bookshelf with very sturdy solid wood shelves that can take the weight. I can remove a shelf to handle the height. Can I put the TV on the shelf, or am I missing something? Do I need to fasten the stand down just to make sure?
Should work fine. Just make sure everything is steady, level and strong enough. You do not want to have it fall off.
