The wakasashi is the better, but just curious why not the Katana and Tanto also? The three go together along with a cleaning kit and you can teach your self the proper rituals for preparing and placing your Katana on.

That is a large Wakasashi blade too. As long as it is had forged and FOLDED by a proffesional then i would say it is the better of the two blades. Folded blades are always stronger than swords made from one length of metal cut to size rather than folded and hammered.
