My great aunt and her husband durring the 1940's went to kuwait and Iraq, because he worked for an oil company, they brought back some prayer rugs and some large brass serving trays for feasts (one is about 4 feet across) they brought back some swords too, one in particular is unique, is is about a 1.5 feet long it is made of steel with a curved blade, it has a steel sheath as well, when you pull it out of the sheath the blade springs out into 3 seperate blades, it has been hand etched over the entirety of the sword/sheath with pictures of muslim men in turbans (some have what looks like crowns on their heads) kneeling and it looks like they are praying with their arms crossed, the artwork looks similar to the style that Europe used durring the dark ages. the sword is in good shape just some surface discoloration, has anyone ever seen/know of something like this? Any idea as to the age of this, there are no antique specialist in my home town Yakima Wa. thanks in advance.
