How can I get rust off stainless steel? (pocket knife)?
I have a really nice kobalt pocket knife it weighs a ton and it's stainless... like a dummy i forgot it outside and now there's rust in the NOOKS & CRANNIES... like places they fold out of... really sucks. Is there anything that can get it out of the hard-to-reach spots, like maybe a liquid i soak it in? THANKS!
Soaking in Cola does work & will not cause etching or damage as will acid based rust removers.
Liquid Wrench helps also.
Have had plenty of rusted tools & use brass brushes, WD40
& Scotchbrite pads to avoid adding more grit .
Once the rust is loose I keep working the parts & flush the crud out w/ WD.
