Would a Rottweiler enjoy the woods and hunting?
My brother has a Brittany they take hunting. Him and his family are very big on spending time in the woods, hunt, fish etc. Their Brittany is thriving in the woods and they're never worried he'll lost his way.
They've been looking for a second dog. My SIL has her heart set on getting a Rottweiler because she had one in the past and she enjoys the breed. Question is, could a Rottweiler fit in their life style?
Thanks,
They don't expect their Rottweiler to perform in the woods. When they'll go for a serious hunt they'll probably leave him at the camp. I was just wondering if a Rottweiler wonder around in the woods does he have the nose to find his way back. I'm reading that they're more likely to stick around their masters than wondering.
The rottweiler by nature is not a very active dog in comparison to spaniels n pointers etc. Although he would enjoy light exercise n walks in the jungle, n going out with u, but do re consider if ur a very active person n want ur dog to accompany u to long expeditions, or expect him to actually help u out in the jungle, he's not bred for those things, n simply does'nt have it "in him". He'll keep bumping into trees n yourself, alerting all your "hunt" n make a nuisance of himself n spoil the hunt/game.
