how to clean the inside of a wooden scabbard?
I have recently purchased a chinese sword, not an expensive one, and i want to keep it looking nice. I'll clean the blade completely, but if i stick it into the wooden scabbard, it comes out with a hard residue on it (I think the previous owner let the sword oil set to long). I need to find out how to clean the inside easily, without harming the blade anymore.
The resin inside the scabbard is SUPPOSED to be there- DON'T try to remove it, it's there to prevent the blade from rusting while it is in storage and also to keep the wood of the scabbard from warping.
