how do you remove tiki torch fuel from a roof?
The bottle of tiki torch fuel dropped from the balcony onto the lower roof of our house and cracked open. Now there is a good size stain. I didn't know what to do so I poured water on it then tried to scrub it with dish soap and water. Stain is still there. I have found answers as how to remove it from concrete or cement but not roof material. Please help!!
It is a petroleum product ( oil base ) and after it soakes in the roof material you will not be able to fully remove the stain. Anything that you use that might remove it on other materials will damage the asphalt roofing material.
If you scrub too hard you will remove the mineral from the roof.
Tri Sodium Phosphate (TSP ) might be gentle enough to help, but it will not remove it fully.
